Our wine estate is located in the heart of the romantic Middle Rhine Valley. This part of the Rhine between Bingen and Koblenz was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002. Our picturesque home town of Spay is nestled in this extremely charming landscape in the valley of the Loreley. Our vines are cultivated in Bopparder Hamm – one of the most impressive steep slate slopes on the Middle Rhine. The entire Bopparder Hamm, where our Engelstein, Rabenlei, Ohlenberg, Feuerlay and Mandelstein vineyard sites are situated, is predominantly south-faced. The sun shines on our vineyards until late in the evening, allowing our grapes to ripen perfectly. This feature is clearly and distinctly reflected in the later wine.

The tradition of our Müller family dates back to 1678. While the vines only made up a part of the mixed farm back then, today we concentrate on viticulture with all our passion. Matthias and Marianne Müller brought the business to its current size of 12 hectares with the continuous acquisition of the best sites in Bopparder Hamm. Enjoyment and joie de vivre have always been our top priority. We exclusively produce white wines with a clear focus on one grape variety: Riesling.

It is not always easy to work on our steep slopes with a gradient of 30 to 70%, which demands a lot from us, especially on hot summer days. However, each site and plot is cultivated individually and carefully in order to harvest high-quality grapes from this challenging terrain and bring out the diversity of the sites in our Rieslings.

We want to bring honesty to the bottle. Which grape variety can better embody both the minerality of our steep slate slopes and the present fruitiness which is due to the climate? For us, this is clearly Riesling! And with an elegance and juiciness that no other grape variety can match. That is why we are fully dedicated to this variety – endeavoring to vinify the perfect Riesling from the Middle Rhine! We use the potential of the best slate slopes to produce spirited wines with the finest fruitiness and gripping minerality.
